After the video sparked memes starting in the first week of November 2024 and also attracted a lot of negative criticism the renowned singer posted a video supporting the girl, stating, “It’s okay to cry. Music is an emotion. It encompasses smiles, dance, bhangra, gidda, and even tears. I have cried many times while listening to music. Only those with emotions can cry. I understand you; don’t worry about it. No one should restrain a girl. They are independent; women, like men, earn too. They earn and have every right to enjoy themselves.”
